December 12, 2024, Press Release from the Delphos Police Department:Â On 12-01-2024 officers were sent to the 400 block of Moxie Lane for a criminal damaging complaint. Officers found that a vehicle at that location had been damaged.
On 12-01-2024 an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. After making contact with the driver, 48-year-old Michael Wagner, of Delphos, it was determined that he was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Wagner was taken into custody and issued a citation for OVI.
On 12-02-2024 officers were dispatched to a business in the 1000 block of Elida Ave. for a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with an employee who stated that she was threatened by a customer.
On 12-02-2024 officers were advised of a female at a business in the 200 block of W. 5th St, who appeared to be highly intoxicated. Officers located the female and after further investigation located numerous different pills believed to controlled substances.
On 12-03-2024 officers spoke with a female who reported that her brother sent her a text message threatening to harm her.
On 12-04-2024 officers were asked to assist Ohio State Highway Patrol in locating a commercial vehicle on US 30, that appeared to be on fire. Â
On 12-04-2024 officers spoke with a female in the 1100 block of William Ave. who reported that someone attempted to scam her over the phone. After refusing them, she was then threatened.
On 12-05-2024 officers were contacted by a female who stated that her neighbor’s back door was open for a long period of time. Officers were able to make contact with the homeowner and all was fine.
On 12-06-2024 officers spoke with a female who is an employee at a religious organization. The female told officers that several of their branches have been receiving threatening calls from a male about their program, and she was just threatened as well.
On 12-06-2024 officers spoke with a male who reported that a female, unknown to him, opened an Amazon account using his personal information.
On 12-06-2024 an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the driver commit a traffic violation. During the traffic stop officers found the driver, 39-year-old Bernardo Barron Torres, of Paulding, to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Torres was taken into custody and issued a citation for the traffic violation, as well as OVI.
On 12-06-2024 officers were sent to the 400 block of E. 8th St. for a Domestic Disturbance. Officers arrived at the residence and all residents denied that any disturbance had taken place.
On 12-07-2024 officers were sent to a financial institution in the 1300 block of E. 5th St. after employees reported receiving counterfeit money.
On 12-07-2024 officers were dispatched to a facility in the 1400 block of E. 5th St, for a disturbance. Officers found that a female had been at the facility causing a disturbance and was asked to leave. The female did leave before officers arrival and was advised not to return.
