Republicans Meet in Lima for Lincoln-Reagan Dinner, Hear from Ohio House Speaker

Allen county republicans gathered at the UNOH Event Center for their annual Lincoln-Reagan dinner, less than a week before the state’s primary election.

The keynote speaker for the evening was Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger.

The air force veteran is currently serving his third term in the Ohio house.

Prior to that, he worked at the White House during the George W. Bush administration.

Rosenberger used the opportunity to praise governor Kasich’s policies and the work of the state legislature for bringing Ohio back to prominence.

“If you look at where we’ve come to where we are ...5 billion dollar tax cut ...making sure that Ohio’s continuing to have an opportunity to have continue to allow jobs to be created throughout the state and businesses that flourish, we’re here to talk about that and Governor Kasich’s record, but also not only Governor Kasich’s record but important people like Matt Huffman who is running for the senate and some of our other candidates especially our state central committee candidates who are extremely important to us,” said Rosenberger.

Rosenberger says the Ohio house will soon start to look at the new capital budget and he’s hoping to bring back "a lot of good to Ohio’s communities."
