Rhodes State College working to meet needs for behavioral health care fields

ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - They saw the need and Rhodes State College has a new center to help meet the needs of mental health and addiction services. The college will be introducing their new Justin Borra Center for Behavioral Services located in the tech lab on campus. The center is home to their addictions, mental health, and social work assistant program that will provide a qualified workforce for behavioral health careers.

Dr. Patricia Hamnpshire, chair of Public Service says, "We're trying to fulfill that need for our community. Our students are workforce-ready. This new space will allow them to get state-of-the-art technology so that they can learn and practice those skills that's necessary to enter the workforce and be ready.”

As part of the kick-off, there will be an open house along with an educational seminar with a keynote speaker and a panel discussion. It will be on Tuesday, October 3rd from 8 am to 1 pm at Keese Hall. Continuing education credits will be offered. It is a free event but they would like you to register at www.rhodesstate.edu.
