Shoppers Take Advantage of Sales Tax Holiday

If you haven't started your back-to-school shopping, now might be the time.

"Everything and anything. Folders, notebooks, highlighters, anything," said shopper Angie Fyffe. 

Now through Sunday, marks Ohio's annual Sales Tax Holiday -- exempting certain items from that extra charge. 

"Might as well take advantage of it if you can save a few dollars, right?" Marianne Snider, a back to school shopper, said. 

"I just heard it last week on the news so I decided to take advantage of it," said Giny Chesser. 

This weekend shoppers will be able to skip the sales tax on clothing items at 75 dollars or less per item and school supplies 20 dollars or less an item.

This way, families don't have to break the bank, while stocking up on essential items. 

"Pencils, folders, notebooks," student Shelby Hart said.

"Crayons, school boxes, pencils, paper, glue, and stuff like that," said another student Tianna Elliott.

As for the shoppers we caught up with earlier, their tax free holidays were just getting started.

"Anything and everything. She's got a list so we're just going to hit it," said shopper Brent Reichenbach. 

"And that's looking like about all so far, but we still have a lot more to go," Fyffe said. 

Luckily there's plenty of time. The savings last up until midnight Sunday evening.
