St. Rita's Hospital invited the public to take an insider first look at a new unit that will give patients and families piece of mind and comfort for a longer stay.
A new inpatient hospice unit will be added to the hospitals fourth floor, giving hospice care a more at home feel. The space includes private rooms, a meditation space, kitchen and living room for guests as well as guest showers and sleeping arrangements. Hospice care has always been provided by St. Rita's but previously on traditional patient floors. The new unit is designed not only for the patient but also accommodates family and friends.
They are hoping the ten bed unit will be open by early April.
