The Lima, Wapakoneta, and Marysville Posts of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are teaming up to help make State Route 117 safer.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, crashes in the stretch of 117 between Lima and U.S. 33 have resulted in sixteen deaths over the past five years. Highway patrol has decided to work on lowering that number by increasing presence on the road to look out for impaired or dangerous drivers. Crash data is helping highway patrol figure out where they are needed the most.
The increased enforcement will continue until Labor Day weekend.
