Student wins car at Apollo Career Center for perfect attendance

One lucky student from Apollo Career Center walked away with the keys to a car Wednesday morning.

Apollo Career Center continued the tradition of honoring students who have held perfect attendance for the academic year with the chance to win a car or laptop. Sixteen students were recognized. The names of two students with perfect attendance were picked out of a hat and the one with the winning set of keys won the car. Michael Johnson, a junior automotive collision tech student was the winner of a 1999 Mercury Mystique. Samuel Dubois, a senior who will be studying computer and web programming at Rhodes State won the laptop. Michael and Sam were both surprised to be the two winners.

"I kept hearing names and I kept thinking is mine going to be next? I didn't think I was going to win this, I really didn't," said Michael Johnson.

"I didn't think that I would have a chance to win a car or laptop in the first place so it's really great, it's a really good honor," commented Samuel Dubois.

Both Michael and Sam say the possibility of winning a car or laptop gave them the motivation to show up every day.
