A program to help family and friends of drug addicts has been set up in Lima being the first of its kind locally.

The 12-step program is designed for loved ones who are also going through and recovering from the effects a drug has brought into their lives and homes.

Pat Bowsher started the local chapter of Nar-Anon family groups here in Lima after she found out there was no such program for families locally. She said the idea came from her own need, after living with her grandson. She says this group is a support system for families unlike counseling.

The group meets every Monday at 7p.m. starting April 4, at Trinity United Methodist Church. The only requirement to attend is that a relative or friend have an addiction problem. the meetings are confidential.
