LIMA, OH (WLIO) -Â Bells will be ringing from now through December 24th to help those in need.
Today, the Lima Salvation Army kicked off their annual Red Kettle Campaign. Their goal is $125,000. Those funds will stay local to help individuals and families that need assistance this holiday season and throughout the year.
"They go to many different activities that we do. We have a food bank, we have kids' after-school programs, we do summer camp in the summer we also go to Camp SWONEKY. There's just so many things we do," explained Philip Bender, Lima Salvation Army.
Most well-known is the Christmas assistance that the Salvation Army provides with the community's help. If you missed their sign up they will be having another opportunity to register on Tuesday, November 15th. They are also looking for individuals, groups, and organizations to donate time to ring the bells this holiday season.
