They came together to introduce a new task force designed to prevent illegal gun use, while finding ways to support the young people of Lima.

President of LABMA Dr. Pastor Arthur Butler added, "We do a lot of things behind closed doors before we bring it to the public because we want to be for sure that what we are doing can be an impact on this community. We want to see this community come together, work together, do some things together, and stop this gun violence."

Lima isn't alone, more than 40,000 people have been killed by gun violence nationwide this year.
