The Lima Police Department continues to grow as additional officers are being hired.
Two new patrolmen were introduced at the weekly mayor's briefing. This brings the LPD strength up to seventy-six and authorized for eighty-six. The officers were sworn in on Monday and are entering their training and looking forward to serving the residents of Lima.
Patrolman Keaton Gillispie said, “I hope someday to be a leader and hopefully maybe be a major one day so I hope to stay here as long as I can and just go up in the ranks and do a good job here in Lima.”
Gillispie says he was inspired by his father, who worked for the Lima Police Department, to join the Lima Police Department. The department is still looking to hire more officers.
