Building friendships and bettering the community is what a free community picnic is all about this Saturday.
The Lima Police Department and its Community Oriented Police officers are throwing a cookout and are inviting residents to come out for an afternoon of fun. There will be food, games, and even a dunk tank. But most importantly it offers a chance to interact with each other in a safe and friendly environment.
The picnic is open to the public and will be at the COP substation at New Life Assembly Church on East Kibby Street. Festivities will be from noon until 3 p.m.
