Theodorou pleads guilty to federal charges for the death of Timothy Hovanec

AUGLAIZE COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The final person charged in the 2022 death of Timothy Hovanec in Auglaize County accepted a plea deal to federal charges.

Anthony Theodorou pleaded guilty to four charges involving the drug used to kill Hovanec. Those charges are Conspiracy to Import a Controlled Substance, Importation of a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and Distribution of a Controlled Substance, and Distribution of a Controlled Substance. Theodorou, who is from South Africa, was charged with importing the drug into the United States, having possession of the drug, and distributing it.

Timothy Hovanec's dash cam captured video and audio of his estranged wife Amanda Hovanec allegedly injecting Timothy with a drug after he dropped off their kids at her mom Anita Green's home in Auglaize County. Theodorou and Amanda disposed of Timothy's car and evidence from the crime in Dayton. Investigators say Green drove Amanda and Theodorou to a remote part of Auglaize County to get rid of the body. Green and Amanda Hovanec have accepted plea deals.

All three will be sentenced on October 1, 2024.
