His books have been entertaining children for years and they celebrated his life on Wednesday.
It was Dr. Seuss's birthday and it was a party at Lima City Schools Unity Elementary as preschoolers had green eggs and ham and learned about rhyming and numbers. Teachers say that activities like these are good for the kids.
"They love it! If we make it a big deal for them so then it's a lot more fun and they get hats and just a fun hands-on engaging day for them," said Riley Corns, preschool intervention specialist.
The kids even got the chance to make his famous Oobleck.
