*UPDATE* 7-13-2022 Media Release from the Allen County Sheriff'sOffice:Per the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center, their agency is prohibited from releasing the identity of the juvenile who escaped on Monday, July 11, 2022, however, our records indicate that Ryan A. Aab (DOB 7/22/2008) escaped from the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center. Ryan is a biracial male, 4ft 8in, 112 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. No photo is available. His last known residence was Lima, Ohio. Any information regarding Ryan’s whereabouts can be directed to Detective Don Geiger at the Allen County Sheriff’s Office at 419-993-1413 or 419-227-3535, or Crime Stoppers at 419-229-STOP (7867).
7/12/22 Update:New information has been released with the escaped youth's description and correct age. The individual that escaped custody is a 13-year-old bi-racial male with brown eyes and black hair. He is 4’ 0” tall and weighs 101 lbs.
7/11/22 Your News Now at 10: Authorities in Allen County were called out the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center late Monday afternoon.
According to the administrator for the Allen County Juvenile Court, around 4 o'clock on Monday, two residents of the juvenile detention center attempted to escape custody. One was a male 13-year-old who was being held on a non-violent offense - he was able to escape custody. The other, a 17-year-old, was not able to leave the facility.
The sheriff's office was called in and began the search for the 13-year-old along with the Lima and American Township Police Departments.
As of now, the juvenile remains at large.
