Wapakoneta High School evacuated its students after a threatening note was found in the school.
The note was found just before noon, prompting the school to initiate a lockdown before moving to evacuate students and staff to a nearby church. There's no word yet on where or how it was found, but law enforcement did clear the building including a search of every student on their way out. Authorities are not releasing what type of threat was made at this time, but are standing firm that once they determine who wrote the note, that person will be in some serious trouble.
"We're confident that we'll be able to have school tomorrow as normal, and we're gonna continue with the investigation and when we find the person, well, they'll be in significant school trouble and also significant legal trouble," says Superintendent Keith Horner,
Wapakoneta Police and the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office responded to the situation along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Cridersville Police. The Wapak Street Department also barricaded off parts of Redskin Trail.
