Even though it's almost summer, it's time again to get your child an early start on school.
The West Ohio Community Action Partnership's head start program is taking applications for the fall enrollment and is open to children of Allen County. It's an income-based opportunity for children from birth up to age five to learn alongside their peers through theme-based activities. The eligibility has increased for this year.
"There are opportunities for homeless families, they automatically get enrolled," explained Phyllis Montrose, childhood development director. "If a child's in foster care they automatically get enrolled. And if a family receives public assistance, if they're receiving TANF and just last month they added SNAP."
