Spartan Stadium — Indian Lake’s historic postseason run came to an end Friday night with a 42-10 loss to undefeated Liberty Center in the Division V state semifinals.
The Lakers, playing in the state final four for the first time in program history, opened strong on their first drive. Quarterback Brady Golliday hit Brodey Reisinger down the sideline for a big gain into Tigers territory, setting up a 34-yard field goal by Avery Pequignot to give Indian Lake a 3-0 lead.
Liberty Center responded with two straight scores and eventually went ahead 21-3 in the second quarter, highlighted by a one-handed touchdown catch from Ethan Gray. The Tigers extended their lead to 28-3 before Indian Lake found a spark late in the half when Golliday connected with Gavin Henry on a 44-yard slant for a touchdown.
Reisinger hauled in another contested catch early in the third quarter, but the Lakers again came up empty on the drive. Liberty Center continued to capitalize on its possessions and pulled away in the second half.
Indian Lake finishes its season 11-3 after the deepest playoff run in school history, while Liberty Center advances to its third straight state championship game.
