DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) — Stadium Park played host to another MAC vs. NWC showdown as Delphos Jefferson welcomed Parkway for the second straight year.
Last season, the Wildcats fell 17–13 to the Panthers. But this time, Jefferson flipped the script.
In the second half, the Wildcats trailed 7–0 until quarterback Luke Rode broke out of the pocket and connected with Lucas Millmine for a touchdown. The PAT was no good, but Jefferson cut the deficit to 7–6.
In the fourth quarter, Dean Trentman took over. The junior running back punched in a touchdown run to give Jefferson its first lead at 12–7, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.
Trentman wasn’t done. He added two more scores in the fourth quarter, finishing with a hat trick of touchdowns in the second half.
Jefferson secured its first win of the season with a 26–14 victory over Parkway.
