DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) — Kalida controlled the pace from start to finish, knocking off St. John’s 48–33 in a girls basketball matchup between the Putnam County League and the Midwest Athletic Conference.

The Wildcats set the tone early with crisp ball movement in the first quarter. Junior Addilyn Huber connected from beyond the arc, finishing with a game-high 18 points to give Kalida an early spark.

Valerie Romes added to the momentum, scoring off the glass as part of her 12-point night. Kalida built its lead to 11 points and took control heading into halftime.

St. John’s attempted to rally behind freshman Lilly Klaus, who showed confidence from long range. Klaus buried a pair of three-pointers to pull the Blue Jays back within single digits and led her team with 10 points.

However, Kalida had an answer each time. Senior Claire Nartker knocked down a three-ball of her own, contributing 11 points to keep the Wildcats firmly in front.

Kalida picked up their sixth win of the season as they topped the Blue Jays 48-33.
