PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima Senior Spartans earned a narrow 64-62 victory over Perrysburg Yellow Jackets on Friday night at Perrysburg Gymnasium, marking the 16th meeting between the two programs.
Lima Senior now holds an 12-4 advantage in the all-time series, having won 11 of the previous 15 matchups entering the contest.
The Spartans trailed early but responded quickly. Elynn Stearns provided a spark under the basket, converting an open look to cut into the deficit. Moments later, Noah Simpson, cut off on a drive, dished to Stearns for another easy score.
Jeff Williams added to the momentum, coming off a screen and knocking down a 3-pointer from beyond the arc with a friendly bounce.
On the ensuing possession, Williams drove into the lane and dropped the ball off to Stearns, who finished with a two-handed dunk.
Despite playing without Shawn Foster, Lima Senior held off Perrysburg down the stretch.
Amari Addy led the Spartans with 22 points to secure the two-point win and hand the Yellow Jackets their first home loss of the season.
