MILLER CITY, Ohio — (WLIO) Miller City used a strong third-quarter surge and lockdown defense to pull away from Lincolnview in a 38–28 non-conference victory.
Lincolnview held a slim edge coming out of halftime. In the third quarter, Destiny Breese kicked the ball out to senior Keira Breese, who got a friendly roll on her jumper to give the Lady Lancers a 22–17 lead.
Miller City quickly responded with a momentum-shifting run. Freshman Sophia Ruck grabbed her own miss and knocked down a pull-up jumper, sparking five unanswered points for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats continued to turn up the pressure on the defensive end. Ruck poked the ball away and pushed it ahead to Elizabeth Erford, who found Vivian Otto for the finish at the rim as Miller City seized control.
That defensive intensity led to another easy score moments later when Otto hit a cutting Kayla Erford, and the sophomore converted to extend the Wildcats’ advantage.
Miller City maintained control the rest of the way, closing out the 38–28 win over Lincolnview.
