ST. HENRY, Ohio (WLIO) — We’ve officially passed the halfway mark of the high school football regular season, and Week 5 delivered plenty of highlights. But only one moment stood above the rest as our K&M Contracting Play of the Week.
That honor belongs to the St. Henry Redskins, who pulled off a textbook flea flicker in their Midwest Athletic Conference matchup against Anna.
In the first half, Will Speck took the handoff before tossing it back to quarterback Charlie Werling. With time to survey the field, Werling launched a deep strike to Carter Laguire for a momentum-shifting touchdown.
The big play gave St. Henry its first points of the night, and the Redskins never looked back. They rolled to a 28-7 win over the Rockets to improve to 3-2 on the season.
St. Henry will look to keep the momentum going in Week 6 when they travel to face Minster.
Congratulations to Speck, Werling, and Laguire for earning this week’s Play of the Week honors.
