MILLER CITY, Ohio (WLIO) — Division VII top-ranked Miller City continued its strong season with a convincing 56-22 win over Arlington in non-conference action.
Miller City showed early fight as freshman Sophia Ruck attacked the basket to score the Wildcats’ first points of the night.
And Miller City wasn't done, as the Wildcats began the game on a 19-0 run capped off by a mid-ranger jumper from senior Elizabeth Erford.
Arlington managed to slow the momentum late in the first quarter when junior Allie Settlage drilled a corner three to get the Red Devils back on the board. Later in the half, the Red Devils swung the ball to senior Madison Ernst, who connected from beyond the arc to help the Red Devils chip away.
Despite continued effort from Arlington — Miller City’s depth and tempo proved too much over four quarters — including a putback bucket from Ruck off an offensive rebound.
The Wildcats pulled away as the game progressed, reinforcing their status as one of the top teams in Division VII with the 34-point victory.
