TROY, Ohio (WLIO) — Wrestlers from across West Central Ohio hit the mats at the Division III district tournament at Hobart Arena, all competing for a chance to reach the state tournament.

Athletes from 17 local schools — including Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds, Allen East Mustangs, Delphos St. John's Blue Jays and Spencerville Bearcats — battled throughout the weekend for a spot at the state tournament.

The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to the state meet, which will take place at the Schottenstein Center.

In the team standings, Versailles Tigers finished as the district runner-up, while Indian Lake Lakers placed third overall.

Lima Central Catholic ended the tournament in sixth place, while Allen East rounded out the top ten.
