Join the mission of strengthening the winter blood supply during January National and Ohio Blood Donor Awareness Month by making a blood donation at the Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center community blood drive Friday, Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 730 W. Market St., Lima.
Mercer Health utilizes nearly 700 units of blood on an annual basis for patients requiring transfusions to replace blood loss from surgical procedures, accidents or treatments for certain diagnoses. Mercer Health thanks the community for continuing to support local blood drives and is pleased to announce a new partnership with Community Blood Center (CBC), a regional blood bank providing blood products to 30 partner hospitals and health centers in western Ohio and eastern Indiana.
Everyone who registers to donate receives the “Sunshine & Saving Lives” beach towel and is automatically entered in the June 5-17 drawings to win two tickets to the 42nd annual Country Concert ’23 July 6-8 in Fort Loramie. There is no summer vacation from CBC’s mission of registering 350 donors every day to meet the demands of area hospitals. CBC asks community members to take time during the holiday period to donate or to reschedule a missed donation as soon as possible.
