Minster holds off Anna, 24-14, behind Kaylor’s heroics

MINSTER, OH (WLIO) — Minster quarterback Carson Kaylor put on a gutsy performance Friday night, leading the Wildcats to a 24-14 home win over Anna and extending their win streak over the Rockets to four straight games. Kaylor opened the scoring in the first quarter, finding Tyler Bergman wide open in the corner of the end zone to give Minster an early 7-0 lead. Anna, still searching for its first win of the season, quickly responded. Quarterback Logan Ziegenbusch handed off to TJ Roberts, who powered his way into the end zone to tie the game at 7. The Rockets struck again early in the second quarter. On a critical fourth down in the red zone, Ziegenbusch escaped pressure and found Roberts again — this time through the air — to put Anna ahead 14-7. But that lead didn’t last long. Kaylor answered with the play of the night — evading a defender in the backfield, breaking a tackle, and diving for the pylon to score a game-tying touchdown before halftime. Minster's defense tightened up in the second half, holding Anna scoreless while the Wildcats added 10 unanswered points to secure the win -- 24-14.
