Lima families had the opportunity to learn more about community resources with the first Families Build Futures Expo.
The expo was put on by Crime Victims Services and SAFY Lima Behavioral Health and brought in different area organizations to give expo-goers information about their services. Â Organizers say that the expo was put on to help support families in raising strong and educated youth, and that families don't have to look for resources only when they're in a bad situation.
"When you're in some kind of crisis, when some bad or sad or scary event happens to you, you get a bit paralyzed, and it's very hard to know what to do next, but here but we really want folks to understand is that you don't have to wait until you're in a crisis," said Judy Lester, Treatment Director for SAFY Lima Behavioral Health.
