BLUFFTON, OH (WLIO) - It was a beautiful day outside to take a walk in downtown Bluffton and pick up some chocolate treats along the way.

The 2024 Chocolate Walk put on by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce invited residents and visitors to stroll through downtown Bluffton and visit a list of locally owned small businesses. 23 businesses participated this year each offering a unique chocolate treat to customers who purchased a chocolate walk ticket. Only 200 tickets were available and they sold quickly as not just Bluffton residents but out-of-town visitors came through to check out the chocolate tour.

Each stop on the walk offered a treat as well as business promotional items to help spread the word about their services and shine a light on the passionate entrepreneurs thriving in the community. Anyone who participated knows that supporting local small businesses and getting sweet treats go together like peanut butter and chocolate.

"So Valentine's Day is next week and we're giving away these chocolate stroopies, they're like a nice dipped-in chocolate waffle cookie. So other businesses are doing other chocolate things so it's a great way to just get in the Valentine's Day spirit, maybe pick up a couple gifts for your sweetheart while you're walking around town. It's a great way to get people back out shopping after the Christmas season is over and see the store's new merchandise and maybe shop some of the sales and just check out Bluffton," said Julie Stratton, owner of "The Black Lab Trading Co."
