Getting kids started on healthy behaviors is the goal of Activate Allen County’s Activated Child Care Challenge.
It is aimed at supporting healthy behaviors in local childcare facilities. They are looking to give out six $500 grants to agencies that want to make changes to become more active and healthier for their small clients. To apply you need to provide an improvement plan and how you will implement it along with a self-assessment.
Josh Unterbrink with Activate Allen County adds, “We used a modified NAPSACC assessment for childcare providers. It’s a very simple assessment that asks them to take a look at their supporting, physical education, physical activity, outdoor play, and nutrition for the youngsters.”
