Repairs will be made by the county to two buildings at the old ODOT Campus.
Allen County Commissioners set aside $200,000 to put a new roof on the EMA building and the “sign” building they toured on Monday. Its roof is to cost just over $30,000 with the remainder set for the EMA roof. There are $90,000 left from a previous grant that can be used with the rest of the cost out of the capital projects budget. They are starting the process of rehabbing the “sign” building to house offices in the future.
Allen County Commissioner Brian Winegardner explains, “Regardless of what we use the building for if the roofs not good than that building can’t be used period. So, that’s our goal is to be able to use that building in some fashion for a county agency.”
The property also has plenty of space to build if the need arises.
