LIMA (WLIO) - The Allen County Council on Aging held a Medicare workshop free to the public this afternoon.
The workshop was presented by trained and certified workers from the Ohio Senior Health Insurance program and provided those in attendance with information that has to be considered when becoming eligible for health insurance.
Medicare Part A and B, key deadlines, Medicare costs, and Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage were among the topics that were covered.

"People often make a choice in the beginning, when they are first retiring or turning 65, that they stay with for a long time. To make a good decision in the very beginning is important. Understanding all the details of the different options that is best for them is important," added Judy Jacomet, Allen County Council on Aging.
