LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - One of the bridges on North Union Street in Lima will soon be coming down.

There was some confusion of who was responsible for the bridge, and after some searching, the county owns the property. It was acquired in 1994 when several parcels were purchased as county parking. The back lot was never used and was sold but the small parcel on top of the bridge was not.

Allen County to remove bridge on North Union Street in Lima

"The bridge over Union Street is an old railroad bridge, and it has some structural deficiencies, and because of that, there's some concern about it," said Brion Rhodes, Allen County Engineer. "We're going to remove that bridge sometime the next year."

Rhodes says they will do the project in-house and should cost around $15,000.
