LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Students from Liberty Arts Magnet let their creativity take center stage during the annual "Spring Spotlight" event.

The showcase featured artwork, singing, dancing, and more from kindergarten through eighth-grade students. The show serves as a culmination of the students' work throughout the school year and provides an opportunity to share their achievements with parents, friends, and the Lima community.

The evening also included face painting and a book fair. School officials said the Spring Spotlight is a highlight of the year and something they look forward to as much as the students.

"Our kids are just wildly creative and they're doing dance, they're doing art, they're doing music, singing, playing instruments, they're doing theater, and they do so many different projects throughout the year," said Sara Chongson, K-4 music teacher for Liberty Arts Magnet. "This is a great way to invite families in, to have them see what their kids are doing, and just also at the end of the year, we're getting to summer vacation. It's like we forget we've done so many wonderful things this year, and this is just truly a celebration of all the great things they've accomplished."
