LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A Lima man is scheduled to stand trial next month in connection with a July shooting that left another man injured.

Anthony Davis, 46, is charged with felonious assault, tampering with evidence and having weapons under disability.

According to the Lima Police Department, officers were dispatched July 27 to a home in the 400 block of E. Pearl St., where they found John Martin, 65, suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Investigators say the shooting happened during a verbal dispute when Davis allegedly waved a handgun and shot Martin.

Davis’ jury trial is scheduled to begin March 23.
