August 22, 2025, Press Release from ArtSpace/Lima:
LIMA, Ohio - Across the United States, the hours between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. are among the most vulnerable times for youth. In many communities, families often lack affordable, accessible options for structured activities during this critical time.
ArtSpace will now be offering an after-school art program specifically designed to meet this need, giving students a safe, creative, and enriching environment from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
The After-School Art Program will provide consistent, high-quality art instruction and open studio exploration for children ages 7 through 14. The program will combine opportunities in drawing, painting, sculpture, clay, and mixed media, with open time for individual creativity. Students will be encouraged to collaborate, experiment, and develop their own voice through art-making.
Beyond skill-building, the program will emphasize resilience, problem-solving, and self-expression, qualities proven to support positive youth development. Art is not only an outlet but also a structured, calming practice that fosters healing, focus, confidence, and perseverance.
Hours for the camp will be from 3:00 to 5:00 each day, starting September 9th, at ArtSpace/Lima, 65 Town Square. Cost will be $5 a day, per child. All materials will be supplied. To sign up, please call ArtSpace/Lima at 419-222-1721.
