TOLEDO, OH (WLIO) - An Auglaize County woman has pleaded guilty to killing her estranged husband with a drug imported from South Africa.
Amanda Hovanec pleaded to four charges involving the drug, which included bringing it into the United States, having possession of the drug, and using it to kill Timothy Hovanec. Timothy's in-car camera had captured video and audio of Amanda Hovanec allegedly injecting Timothy with a drug after he dropped off their kids at her mom Anita Green's home.
South African resident Anthony Theodorou is facing charges for shipping the drug and his role in the murder. He and Amanda allegedly disposed of Timothy's car and evidence from the crime in Dayton. Investigators say Green drove Amanda and Theodorou to a remote part of Auglaize County to get rid of the body. Green pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact and she and Hovanec will be sentenced at a later date. Theodorou is still awaiting trial.
