Kids enjoyed a holiday party Wednesday night, while having fun roller skating, and, it was all for a good cause.
The annual holiday skating party at the Edgewood Skate Arena has been going on over ten years now. Proceeds go to the Allen County D.A.R.E. Program, which teaches kids the dangers of drugs, alcohol and tobacco. There was food, music and prizes, like a pair of girls and boys roller skates. Even Santa Claus joined in on the fun with the kids.
"I'm having a great time because i know it's for a good cause. D.A.R.E. is to prevent drugs and drinking. It'll ruin your brain if you do drugs and stuff. I'm happy supporting the cause," said 7th grader Amiyah Collier.
For a free drink, parents and kids brought in canned goods, which will be donated to the West Ohio Food Bank.
