April 29, 2024, Press Release from the Armstrong Air & Space Museum: WAPAKONETA — The Armstrong Air & Space Museum is inviting creative minds from around the region to submit their artwork in the organization’s logo design contest for the 55th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. The winning design will become the official logo for the museum’s Apollo 11 anniversary celebrations and will be featured prominently on promotional materials, merchandise, and digital platforms associated with the event.

“We really wanted to engage the community for this year’s Apollo 11 anniversary,” says Dante Centuori, Armstrong Air & Space Museum executive director. “This logo design contest provides a unique opportunity for individuals to showcase their creativity while also commemorating one of humanity’s greatest achievements. The winner will also have their design seen by thousands of guests from around the world.”

Entries for the contest will be accepted starting April 29th and will go through May 15th. The winning designer will receive $300 compensation for their work and a complimentary piece of merchandise with their winning logo. As a consolation, second place will receive a free Ohio History Connection membership for a year and third place will receive a complimentary total eclipse banner. Submissions must adhere to the guidelines outlined on the museum’s website and should reflect the significance of the Apollo 11 mission and its impact on space exploration.

Once submitted, the designs will be reviewed by a panel of staff and Armstrong Air & Space Museum Association board members. Entries will be judged on their appearance, quality, adherence to the guidelines, and ease of use for reproduction purposes. After selection, the judging panel’s decision is final.

Designs can be submitted to Logan Rex at exhibits@armstrongmuseum.org, or if needed, via social media. For more information and full list of contest guidelines, visit the museum’s events page at armstrongmuseum.org.
