A former Delphos man is being charged with the murder of a well-known former coal company executive who was shot last May.
According to the Coal Valley News, the trial for 20-year-old Anthony Raheem Arriaga, and his accomplice, 19-year-old Brandon Lee Fitzpatrick have been scheduled for April 13. Coal Valley News says the Mingo County Sheriff's Department in West Virginia, stated that in May of last year, Arriaga and Fitzpatrick had intentions of stealing coal executive, Ben Hatfield's SUV who was visiting his wife's grave in a cemetery, so they could sell it for money. Instead of stealing the car, West Virginia Police say that Arriaga fatally shot Hatfield in the back and then fled back to Allen County. Arriaga was arrested at a home in Delphos, a day after the shooting.
Besides murder one, Arraiga is also facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit a robbery.
