WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Ohio Goes to the Movies series is highlighting the Buckeye State's contributions to film as part of America's 250th celebration.
On Monday, the spotlight was on Neil Armstrong with two free movies to watch - One Small Visit, a true story about a trip to Wapakoneta in 1969, and Neil Armstrong: First Man on the Moon, based on interviews with the astronauts' relatives. Theater goers could also see an astronaut's suit up close.
Officials say both showings illustrate the rich history of Auglaize County.
"It's a collaborative effort of lots of institutions; we have Riverside Arts Center, the County Historical Society, First on the Moon, the Armstrong Air & Space Museum, and it's just another wonderful way that folks in Auglaize County work together, to promote arts and cultural events," said Rachel Barber, director of the Auglaize County Historical Society.
Ohio Goes to the Movies will complete its nearly 250 day run of statewide showings in October.
