WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Wapakoneta WaterPark is getting ready a summer full of fun in the sun.

The park has also added some new splash pads and water features for the young kids as well as multiple shaded areas and cabana areas.
The waterpark will open up for the summer season on May 31st at 11 am. The park is open everyday of the week from 11 am to 6 pm with family hours from 11 am to 1 pm. The water park is also continuing their mission of being affordable for all families, as kids can get in for $2 and adults are $5.
The park has also added some new splash pads and water features for the young kids as well as multiple shaded areas and cabana areas to accommodate to patrons during the summer heat.
"We really have gone from trying to make this a business, to a service to the community, and so every time I drive by, I want to see as many people here as possible, because I know then that the community is using the facility," said waterpark manager Jack Hayzlett. "For me, I'm just excited about getting more people here, if we can."
Hayzlett says some patrons have asked about a potential night swim event at the waterpark and he says they don't have one scheduled, but they are looking into it.
