ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The Allen County Fairgrounds is getting ready to light up bright during this holiday season.
This is the fourth year for the Allen County Fairgrounds and Mercy Health to team up for the Bright Nights display. Fairgrounds staff have been working for around two months getting the nearly one mile worth of displays set up. There are around 10 to 15 new displays added to the drive-through light show that covers the fairgrounds. Organizers are happy to bring some Christmas cheer to the community.
"I feel like it's a gift to the community," says Troy Elwer, Promotions & Operation Manager, Allen Co. Fairgrounds. "It's kind of an event that goes on at the fairgrounds when people think we are a 9-day fair in August and not much goes on. Well, we try and take a holiday tradition and put it in a nontraditional part of the fairgrounds schedule and it seems to be positively received by the public."
Mercy Health Bright Lights is cash only and the cost is $10 a vehicle or $30 a bus. The Allen County Fairgrounds is located at 2750 Harding Hwy Lima, OH 45804.
The dates are:
November 24 through 26 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
December 2 and 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
December 8 through the 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
December 15 through the 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
December 20 through the 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
