The ground outside is frozen, but that doesn't deter officials for a Van Wert County behavioral health facility from moving forward on expansion plans. Â
The $2.5 million expansion at Ridgeview Behavioral Hospital will nearly double the size of the Middle Point facility and create an estimated 150 new jobs. Â
During the construction, more than 16,000 square feet will be added. Â The facility first opened for patients in May of 2012. Â The hospital has 40 beds, but after the expansion, there will be at least 76. Â
Employees at the hospital treat mental illness and addiction issues. Â Construction is expected to be complete in summer of 2014. Â
