HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) — A Belle Center man was arrested after a high-speed chase in Hancock County early Wednesday morning.
Brandon Johns, 37, is facing charges for failure to comply with a police officer. He was also wanted on a warrant out of Logan County.
Hancock County deputies were called to Township Road 122 at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday after reports of people walking and arguing in a field. When they arrived, an SUV fled the scene and failed to stop for deputies.
The brief chase reached speeds of over 100 mph before the SUV stopped at a residence. Johns, who was driving, then fled on foot. Deputies and a K-9 unit from Findlay police located him in a field and took him into custody.
A passenger in the vehicle, 35-year-old Timothy Werling of Lima, was also arrested on a warrant out of Allen County.
Deputies discovered cocaine, methamphetamine and copper wire believed to be stolen, meaning Johns could face additional charges as the investigation continues.
