CELINA, Ohio (WLIO) — A Celina man is in jail after leading officers on a police chase Sunday night. Dustin Lawson, 31, was charged with failure to comply with an officer and other traffic violations.
According to court documents, just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday, a Mercer County deputy attempted to pull over the minivan Lawson was driving for speeding. When the deputy activated his lights, Lawson accelerated, reaching speeds of 90 to 100 mph at various points during the chase.
Mercer County deputies and Coldwater police later discontinued the pursuit and went to the home where the minivan was registered. The owner confirmed that Lawson had been driving the vehicle.
Officers then went to Lawson’s home and arrested him. He is being held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
