A course is currently underway to help Lima residents obtain skills to enter the manufacturing industry.
The City of Lima offered CNC training classes through Rhodes State College. Those who participated in the course learned skills in programming computer-controlled equipment.
"It's exclusive to the people of Lima and what we are doing is trying to offer them an opportunity to develop some skills to get into the machining and programming type of jobs that are available in the area," said Lew Modic, Project Manager of the CNC training. "It's a growing area, and the nice thing about this type of stuff is that it will actually give them skills for hands-on manufacturing, not just the machining."
More training sessions are planned throughout the week.
