Columbus Amber Alert suspect accused of suffocating 5-year-old boy arraigned on Thursday

Pammy Maye is accused of suffocating Darnell Taylor on February 13th in their Columbus home. NBC station WCMH reports Maye and her husband became the child's legal guardians just last year. Today, the judge issued Maye a three million dollar bond for the murder charge and a one million dollar bond for the kidnapping charge.

According to court records, Maye admitted to killing Taylor and disposing of the body in a sewer just a few miles from their home. On February 14th, one day after Maye allegedly killed the boy, her husband called 9-1-1 at 3 a.m. and told operators she had admitted she killed Taylor. Before Maye's husband hung up the phone she had left the house. About two hours later, an Amber Alert was issued because initial reports said Maye had abducted Taylor.
