Crash victims remembered in Coldwater

A beautiful tribute in Coldwater for four people who left wonderful memories for their loved ones.

Ken and Chloe Esmonde, their adult son Ken Junior, and Elizabeth Homan were killed in a 1996 car crash outside New Bremen while returning from a fund-raising project at Kings Island.

Their volunteer work was through the Med Foundation at Mercer County Community Hospital where officials held a remembrance ceremony unveiling a plaque and two newly-planted trees.

It was an emotional tribute and one that means a lot to the Esmonde's daughter Karri Gray.

And it was that spirit of volunteerism that was instilled early on in their children.

Those in attendance at the ceremony shared stories of the four victims' kindness and learned by example the importance of helping others

An annual golf outing held over the past few years in the victims' honor has brought in 125 thousand dollars to help young people from Mercer County planning a career in the medical field.
