Friday October 18, 2024

0320 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of McConahay Road in Pleasant Township for a report of a suspicious vehicle.

0403 hrs. – Deputies assisted a stranded motorist from the Paulding County Line to the Mercer County Line.

0848 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Stamm Road in Harrison Township for a complaint of criminal damaging.

1345 hrs. – Deputies assisted with a funeral escort from the City of Van Wert to Mohr Cemetery in Hoaglin Township.

1444 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Main Street in the City of Van Wert for a stray dog.

1608 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident in reference to a motor vehicle crash that had occurred in Pleasant Township earlier in the week.

1724 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Jackson Street in the Village of Wren for a complaint of a parking violation.

1726 hrs. – Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert County Common Pleas Court for a Bond Violation. Johnathon Matthew Carl Wilt age 34 of Van Wert is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.

1739 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Willshire Eastern Road in Willshire Township for a report of a loose horse.

1756 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident from Brodnix Road in York Township in reference to a juvenile being unruly.

1856 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of State Route 709 in Liberty Township to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

1925 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Ervin Road in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

2141 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Convoy Road in Hoaglin Township to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

2325 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Giffin Road in Hoaglin Township for a report of a noise disturbance.

2358 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a location on Van Wert Decatur Road in the City of Van Wert for a subject who fell.

Saturday October 19, 2024

0537 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Elm Street in the Village of Ohio City for a report of a noise disturbance.

0857 hrs. – Dispatched Ohio City EMS to a residence on State Route 81 in York Township for a subject who was ill.

0959 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a location on Tully Street in the Village of Convoy for a subject with chest pain.

1057 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Flager Road in Liberty Township for a combine that struck utility lines.

1124 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on U.S. Route 224 in Harriston Township for a report of criminal damaging.

1333 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Old Tile Factory Road in Pleasant Township to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1353 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Koch Street in the Village of Ohio City for a complaint of juveniles riding ATVs on the streets.

1414 hrs. – Deputies along with Convoy Fire and EMS responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover crash on John Brown Road in Union Township. The incident was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

1430 hrs. – Deputies assisted with a Funeral Escort from the City of Van Wert to Woodlawn Cemetery in Liberty Township.

1542 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy Fire to a report of a combine fire on Mentzer Church Road in Tully Township.

1904 hrs. – Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert Municipal Court for Probation Violation. Jared Wayne Shaffer age 25 of Van Wert is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.

2024 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 near State Route 66 in Washington Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Unit One Was Eastbound on U.S. Route 30 near the State Route 66 overpass. Unit One was struck by Unit two. Unit Two left the scene. No injuries were reported.

2039 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Tully Township looking for a report of a suspicious vehicle coming from the Village of Payne on State Route 49.

2144 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Shannon Street in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

2213 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Becker Road in Washington Township of a dispute.

2220 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 127 in Union Township for a complaint of gunshots being heard.

2356 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Railroad Street in the Village of Middle Point for a complaint of gunshots being heard.

Sunday October 20, 2024

0016 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Spencerville Delphos Road in Washington Township for a report of an injured deer.

0417 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a residence on Mason Street in the Village of Middle Point for a subject with a back injury.

0528 hrs. – Deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a deer on Lincoln Highway in Washington Township, no injuries were reported.

1035 hrs. – Deputies along with Convoy EMS responded to a residence on Harrison Willshire Road in Harrison Township for a report of a subject found deceased. No foul play is suspected.

1321 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township for a subject with chest pain.

1322 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Hartsock Road in Willshire Township for a report of a possible domestic dispute. While investigating the complaint, Deputies discovered an active warrant for a subject on the scene. Deputies served a warrant issued by Putnam County Juvenile Court for Failure to Pay Child Support. Brandon Potter age 39 of Ohio City was transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.

1510 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Wayne Street in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1521 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 127 in Hoaglin Township for an automated report of a possible crash. The incident was unfounded.

1635 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Tully Street in the Village of Convoy for a report of two loose dogs.

1718 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Railroad Street in the Village of Middle Point for a complaint of harassment.

1748 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Van Horn Road in Tully Township for a report of Domestic Violence.

1829 hrs. – Deputies investigated a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Lare Road in Tully Township. The stolen vehicle is a dark blue 2013 Ford Edge.

1833 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Schumm Road in Willshire Township for a report of domestic disturbance.

1934 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a residence on Middle Point Road in Ridge Township for a subject who fell.

2039 hrs. – Dispatched Ohio City Fire and EMS to a report of a motor vehicle crash on State Route 709 near U.S. Route 127 in Liberty Township. The incident was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

2204 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of South Street in the Village of Willshire for a report of two suspicious vehicles.

Monday October 21, 2024

0053 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Drury Street in the Village of Scott to investigate a complaint of menacing. Aaron Scott McMillan age 42 of Scott was arrested for First-Degree Misdemeanor charge of Aggravated Menacing. He was transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.

0348 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Chestnut Street in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert City Police.

0622 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Tumbleson Road for a medical alarm.

0625 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of State Route 116 in Ridge Township for a motor vehicle crash involving a deer, no injuries were reported.

0642 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on State Route 116 York Township for a complaint of a stray dog.

0800 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Ohio Indiana State Line Road in Harrison Township for a complaint of a traffic hazard.

0906 hrs. – Dispatched Wren EMS to a residence on German Church Road in Harrison Township for a subject having severe pain.

1055 hrs. – Deputies along with Ohio City Fire and EMS, Van Wert Fire and EMS responded to a motor vehicle crash on U.S. Route 127 in Pleasant Township. The incident was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

1330 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of State Route 118 in the Village of Ohio City for a complaint of a large amount of traffic speeding.

1609 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Washington Township checking the area for a juvenile reported as missing in the State of Illinois.

1734 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Tully Township for a report of reckless driving.

1834 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Franklin Street in the Village of Convoy for a complaint of a four wheeler running the street and trespassing on private property.

1848 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Fife Road in Union Township for a subject not responding appropriately.

2022 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Wren Landeck Road in Willshire Township for a report of an open door.

2025 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of South Street in the Village of Wren for a report of loose cattle.

2209 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Washington Township for a complaint of reckless driving.

2237 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Walcott Street in the Village of Willshire for a report of a subject with a knife who may have been in mental distress. The subject was located and transported to Ohio Health for further evaluation and treatment.

2241 hrs. – Received a call of a juvenile in mental distress at a residence on Wren Landeck Road in York Township. Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the residence. The subject was transported by Troopers to Ohio Health for treatment and further evaluation.

2330 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a residence on Dog Creek Road in Ridge Township for a subject having difficulty breathing.
